Mar 18, 2017 · Sorry for the late reply. I was able to solve my problem by updating to the latest version of Octoprint. I also tried without timelapse at first, but even this is working fine now. I am using a raspberry pi 3 with a microSD class 10, so speed is not an issue. I didn't have to change the speed of the axes for it to work.

The way I have it set up is Octoprint on a Raspberry Pi , Pi connected to printer via usb and network via cat5. On my PC I open S3d, slice the model, save to a directory on the PC, switch to my browser that is logged in to the Octoprint web interface, upload the file from the pc and print. This would allow you immediate power switching with a direct signal from the PI's GPIO using the GPIO cmd line tool. (I may do this later to simplify the setup. Downside is it requires the PI to be on, and offers no other software way other than in the PI to power off the machine.
